Marrying the functional with the otherworldly, the Glo-Ball S by Jasper Morrison is a remarkably versatile design that punctuates any room it is featured in. Its diffuser is made of externally acid-etched, hand-blown, flashed opaline glass. The diffuser support is transparent, injection-molded PC (polycarbonate). It features a 30% fiberglass reinforced injection-molded polyamide rose and includes a pressed and galvanized ceiling fitting, as well as a steel suspension cable.

After first opening its doors in 1971 Flos acquired brands and opened new a new factory on a path to bring cutting edge creativity to the interior lighting industry. “My grandfather had decorated one room of his house in the Scandinavian style of the ‘60s—bare floors, long-haired white rugs—and in it was a Braun record player with wooden side panels. I was impressed by the room and the record player.” – Jasper Morrison
Jasper Morrison was born in London in 1959. He studied at the Kingston School of Art and the Royal College of Art, graduating in 1985. Since 1986 he has opened his Office for Design in London.
Jasper Morrison became a leading figure of “New Simplicity,” a movement that advocated a more modest and also more serious approach to design. In addition to furniture, he has also created lamps, home accessories, textiles, a tram system for the city of Hanover, Germany and a bus shelter for the Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein.
Recent projects include the design of the furniture for the Tate Modern in London, the Folding Air-Chair and Low Air-Table for Magis, flatware, glassware and other home accessories for Alessi, the Flos Glo-Ball lighting series and furniture for Vitra.
