Credenzas and Sideboards
Credenzas and sideboards store and declutter spaces. Traditionally used in the dining room, they figure more prominently in the living room, entryways, home offices, and other areas. They often have shelves, drawers, and cabinets to organize linens, china, decor, and more.
The credenza originates from Renaissance Italy, where taste-testers would check royalty’s meals for poison. Often low and long, they are helpful for displaying and serving meals. Sideboards emerged in England in the 18th Century to hold tableware, serving dishes, and glassware in the dining room. But they are also fantastic for storing files, printers for a cleaner workspace.
