Vitra ACX Soft Chair
ACX is the tenth office swivel chair that Vitra has developed in collaboration with Italian designer Antonio Citterio. With its automatic synchronized mechanism, the compact ACX offers maximum comfort for every user without any need for adjustments other than seat height – while exhibiting a distinctly non-technical appearance. The construction, materials, production, logistics and maintenance of ACX are designed to achieve a long life cycle with the smallest possible carbon footprint.
ACX Soft stands out from the other two models in the ACX family – Light and Mesh – in that its backrest has a padded knit cover. This soft comfortable textile made of recycled polyester lends the task chair a particularly inviting appearance. Available in a choice of seven colours, the knitted fabric can be combined with a light or dark chair frame, allowing for a wide variety of configurations. The seat cover can be selected in a complementary knitted fabric or in the textile Plano.

HELPFUL NOTES:
- The ACX mechanism automatically adjusts to a wide range of user weights: even very lightweight or heavier individuals can sit down and enjoy instant comfort and optimum support throughout the full scope of movement, without having to adjust anything except the seat height. That makes ACX particularly suitable for environments in which dynamic collaboration processes have replaced sitting for long periods in the same chair

Antonio Citterio
Italy, 1950
Born in 1950 in Meda, Italy, Antonio Citterio opened his architecture office at the age of just 22. One of the most internationally sought-after designers, Citterio has worked for such renowned companies as Vitra, Flos, Kartell, and Iittala. The reason for the success of his design projects is that he likes to “tease” out an object’s dormant potential. He is on a constant search for true and authentic work and that he detests bad design. In 1987 and in 1994, Antonio Citterio received the Compasso d’Oro award.
Since 2006 he has been teaching architectural design at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, Switzerland. In 2008, the Royal Society honored him for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce of London, which gave him the title of “Royal Designer for Industry.”

Vitra is a Swiss company dedicated to improving the quality of homes, offices, and interior public spaces through the compelling power of design. Their chairs, tables, and accessories, including clocks, toolboxes, and cushions, are developed with an intensive, modern design process. Fusing engineering excellence with the creative genius of leading-edge international designers, Vitra enhances the aesthetic and emotional aspects of every space they grace.
All Vitra products are functional, inspiring, and durable.
