Danese Milano Archivio Vivo Book Stand
Archivio vivo is a bookstand that is available in two versions. The first version is freestanding and can be placed on a table or desk whereas the second can be fixed to the wall. The piece is lightweight and practical and was designed so that objects, books or pictures could easily be displayed in any space. In its own unassuming way, the exhibitive function of the object is like something you might find in a museum, but the way it has been designed allows for very free and personal use.

James Irvine
England, 1958 - 2013
James Irvine was born in London and graduated in 1984 from The Royal College of Art, London. He moved to Milan the same year. From 1984 to 1992 he was a design consultant for Olivetti Design Studio, designing industrial products under the direction of Michele De Lucchi and Ettore Sottsass.
From 1993 to 1997, in parallel to his private studio, he was a partner in charge of industrial design at Sottsass Associati Milan. In 2004 he was also elected RDI (Royal Designer for Industry) by the Royal Society of Arts in London, and in 2007 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Design from Kingston University.
During its long career, Studio Irvine has worked with various internationally renowned companies including Alias, Arper, Artemide, B&B Italia, Canon, Coro, Duravit, Foscarini, LG, Magis, Marsotto Edizioni, MDF Italia, Muji, Olivari, Olivetti, Phaidon, Ströer, Thonet, Whirlpool, WMF and Zumtobel.
After James Irvine’s premature death in 2013, Studio Irvine found its natural continuity in the figures of Marialaura Rossiello Irvine (partner at James Irvine Srl since 2009) and Maddalena Casadei (Irvne's right arm of Irvine for nine years).
Since its founding in 1957, Danese Milano has epitomized the fusion of artistic flair and utilitarian design. Initially shaped by icons like Bruno Munari and Achille Castiglioni, the brand has evolved by incorporating the visions of contemporary designers like Michele De Lucchi and Richard Hutten. This item qualifies for free door-to-door delivery within the Continental USA and Canada, with a few exceptions:
