Details
The Grasshopper collection consists of a series of high and low tables which boast a clear, geometric aesthetic and visual weightlessness, characteristic of Lissoni's refined, easily adaptable and versatile style.
Of the designs Lissoni commented, "Grasshopper borrows its name from the animal that has six precision tools for legs. Here there are four, equally long, incredible and perfectly functional. Above them sits a top that is so thin that it looks [as if it is] able to lift and take to the the air. An object that is so weightless and compact that it works perfectly with all the chairs of the Knoll range."
Offered in a variety of sizes, shapes, and finishes, the table collection works in a wide range of different applications to offer a complete picture of the contemporary interior.

Knoll Piero Lissoni - Grasshopper High Table Designed by:
- Piero Lissoni , 2018
Piero Lissoni
Italy, 1956
Born in Italy, Piero Lissoni is a well-known designer and architect with a degree from the Polytechnico of Milan. In 1986 Lissoni founded the Studio Lissoni. Lissoni has worked with design brands such as Boffi, Cassina, Kartell, Living Divani and Flos on a wide diversity of designs of furniture and lighting. Lissoni’s projects are often full-scale interiors and architecture of hotels, offices and showrooms, yachts and private homes. He is inspired by many different elements but also designers such as Arne Jacobsen.
Piero Lissoni’s design principle is never to design for a specific function or purpose, but to design for human beings. His designs for Alessi include the very minimal Birillo Collection of objects. In 2004 Knoll introduced Lissoni’s Divina Lounge Collection, originally designed for his longtime client, Living Divina. It features clean lines and exceptional comfort and appears to float in mid-air, with razor-thin legs supporting the chrome-plated steel frame.
